In collaboration with peers from the Procedural Animation course, I helped bring to life a tranquil pond environment, built in Maya and unified by a stylized, painterly texture approach inspired by impressionist aesthetics. The project aimed to evoke a sense of calm through soft visual language and thoughtfully composed scenes.
My role encompassed a wide range of responsibilities, including modeling, texturing, scene layout, and lighting. I was directly responsible for crafting key environmental elements such as cattails, the wooden bridge, lamp fixtures, and boat oars. In addition, I led the spatial arrangement of assets—strategically placing trees, rocks, turtles, lamps, and grass to guide the viewer’s eye and support narrative flow.
Beyond artistic contribution, I stepped into a leadership position to coordinate the team’s efforts. I managed task delegation, nurtured effective communication among members, and ensured consistent progress toward our shared vision. My lighting work played a central role in heightening the scene’s emotional tone, with carefully placed highlights and shadows that subtly draw attention to focal areas and reinforce compositional harmony.
