This piece is a reimagined album cover concept inspired by Willow Smith’s Lately I Feel Everything. Designed in Adobe Photoshop, the artwork layers expressive typography with bold visual symbolism to capture the raw energy and emotional intensity of the album. The handwritten-style text “lately I feel everything” repeats in the background to create a sense of overwhelming thoughts and feelings. A monochrome portrait grounds the composition, contrasted by striking red “XX” brushstrokes over the eyes, symbolizing intensity, rebellion, and vulnerability.
Lastly, I put all the pieces together in InDesign, by creating the album packaging. There the front and back cover connect with the gate folder displaying another image of Willow Smith, and the bold branding of the rest of the design. It also displays a lyric of her popular single from the album "Transparent Soul" connecting the album to the radio hit.
The design extends seamlessly to the vinyl record, where repeating “X” patterns on the label reinforce the visual language of the cover. By blending photography, text repetition, and hand-painted digital marks, this project highlights the power of graphic design to reflect musical identity and emotion through bold, minimalist imagery.
